This four part seminar deals with auditioning for both Stage and Film in New York and is meant for new graduates, those new to NYC, or those tired of not getting cast. 10/7-8 and 10/14-15: Saturdays and Sundays, 4:30-6pm. Part 1: The Audition: Covers Preparation, Presentation and Performance. What should you do, say and wear? What's wrong with that headshot and resume? What gets you noticed and can get you at least a callback? How can you relax and just be yourself - and get the part? Part 2: Monologues: What works for you and what doesn't? How to find the best monologues for your audition. How to freshen up an old audition piece. How to have a classy audition by tying two monologues together in an audition. Part 3: The Cold Reading: How to learn to be a good cold reader. How to make immediate choices that work in an audition. How to not keep your head in the script during a cold read. How to not panic if you have no time to prep before a cold read. Part 4: Headshots & Resumes: What works and what doesn't? How to make your resume more professional without lying and embellishing it. Does your headshot work for you or against you? This includes a personal analysis of your headshot and resume. Taught by Artistic Director of Nicu's Spoon. $100 (class limited to 10) Oct 2006. TRU DISCOUNT: 15% OFF. To get information and to Pre-Register e-mail info@spoontheater.org [6-23]

ACTORS! NEED AN ACTING CLASS
THAT WILL PROPEL YOUR CAREER FORWARD?
New agent-taught series of classes, with $20 off for TRU readers! As an actor, are you frustrated by: Not being able to secure the audition appointments you know should be yours, not getting callbacks when you go to an audition, not feeling truly comfortable with your audition technique, not feeling truly comfortable with "cold reading" auditions, not finding monologues that suit you and your talents well, not finding monologues that are not already "done to death" by other actors, not finding a teacher who is well-versed in ways of helping you to achieve your career goals, not working with a teacher armed with a wealth of information, knowledge and experiences, willing to reinforce his thoughts and ideas with a veritable trove of anecdotal material, much of it gleaned from his own life and the lives of friends and colleagues? Then you are in luck! Lewis R. Chambers (who founded The Bethel Agency nearly 38 years ago and who has represented actors in all major media) plans a series of 3 or 4 classes during the months ahead. Classes are arranged in blocks of four each, meeting on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings, as well as on Saturday mornings from 10 AM to 1 PM. Evening class hours are flexible -- some will begin at 6:00 or 6:30 PM, while others will, in all probability, begin at 7 PM, ending three hours later. Classes are basically scene study, monologues, audition technique, cold readings and, at times, a bit of improv. Informal meetings follow most classes, enabling students to learn more about the business part of their careers. Classes, of four meetings each, are priced at $180, with a non-refundable deposit of $100 to be paid ten days before the start of any skein of classes and the balance to be paid at the first class. For more detailed information, Mr. Chambers is reachable at 212.864.4510 or at either of two Email addresses: chambers_bethel@yahoo.com or BethelAgcy@aol.com
