Another chance to hook up with some people who can help you...
TRU ACTORS RESOURCE NIGHT
(AND "SPEED DATING")

July's event was so popular, we did it again in August.
Now we're doing it again for all the nice actors we turned away before.
Just a week before Hallowe'en, but don't be scared to meet our dates. (They won't bite!)

And no, it's not really a date. Just a way to meet some really helpful people.
Including two casting directors and an agent, no less!
Produced by Theater Resources Unlimited in association with The Actors Connection.

Friday evening October 24th at 7pm
The Actors Connection,
630 Ninth Avenue (44th/45th), Suite 1410

Reservations required: email TRUnltd@aol.com

July was hot. August was hotter! Third time's the charm (and probably cooler)? October is your next chance to meet, mingle, eat, drink and network with us. And what's this about "Speed Dating"? Is this a fix-up? Nah, it's nothing romantic. Is it an audition? Nah - no monolog slam, or need to be "on." You don't even have to sign up for "Speed Dating" to party with us.

But it's a chance to introduce yourself to our ten sponsoring hosts (including casting directors Brian Kuchta and Jamibeth Margolis - and agent Casey Ross has just joined us) and spend three minutes getting to know each other before moving on. Just like real life. (Instead of flowers, our sponsors will woo you with special discount offers.) Click here for the lineup of sponsors:

Awesome Web Solutions - Tony Nation
Leslie Becker - life coach
Bluface Photography
Erin Cronican of The Actors Enterprise
Walter Gowens - financial advisor
Brian Kuchta - casting director
Kristina LaTour - video reels
Jamibeth Margolis - casting director
Brian O'Neil - career coach
Kimberly Vaughn -musical performance/audition coach

Oh, one thing's changed: we have to charge. But it's only $10 (but still FREE for TRU members), and you've gotten your money's worth with two glasses of wine and a plate of cheese, right?

ABOUT SPEED DATING. How does it work? Okay. There are ten stations each manned by a sponsor who offers you a service. We put you in a group of ten, each of you starts at a different station. You spend three minutes finding out about your "date." Or telling them about yourself. Or asking for advice. Or cvetching. It's your three minutes. We let you know when 30 seconds remain, and then we let you know when three minutes are up and you have to move to the next station. As a thank you, your "date" will give you a coupon for a discount or special offer (these offers are given only to people who go through Speed Dating.) At the end of a thirty minute (approx) circuit, we bring in the next group of ten. While you're waiting, you can drink and socialize. Or primp for your date.

As part of the event, we will also be offering headshot/resume evaluations and consultations with TRU Casting Director Catherine Lamm and TRU photographer Ellis Gaskell. Plus ongoing talks about audition tips and etiquette.

In addition to the dating stations, there will be other actor resources to meet on your own. So bring lots of headshots to give out. We turn people away at every one of these, so please reserve early by emailing TRUnltd@aol.com with the header "I wanna Speed Date!"
